The EG18 is a series of LTE Cat 18 IoT modules in an LGA form factor measuring 39.5mm x 37mm x 2.8mm, which meets the 3GPP Release 12 standard. The EG18 is compatible with Quectel’s Cat 6 and 12 modules EG06 and EG12, to enable ease of migration between different categories. The series consists of two variants to meet various geographical demands, which can be compared via the table above.
Delivering maximum downlink rates of 1.2Gbps and uplink rates of 150Mbps under LTE, the EG18 supports a range of applications that require fast and reliable transmission of large amounts of data, and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology meets demands for data rate and link reliability. A wide range of internet protocols, industry-standard interfaces and functionalities (such as USB serial drivers for Windows 7/8/8.1/10, and Linux) allow the module to serve a wide range of IoT applications with demanding data transmission requirements.
