The NanoPi R6S (as “R6S”) is an open source and high performance platform developed and designed by FriendlyElec for edge computing. It has a dual-2.5G and a Gbps Ethernet ports. It is integrated with a Rockchip RK3588S CPU and 32GB eMMC flash. It supports multiple OS systems including FriendlyWrt, Android, Debian, Ubuntu and more. In addition it supports GPU and VPU acceleration.
The R6S has rich hardware resources all on its compact size of 90 x 62 mm. FriendlyElec has released a carefully designed CNC housing for it. It has one HDMI port capable of decoding video streams of 8K@60fps H.265/VP9,8K@30fps H.264 and more.
The R6Shas two USB ports and supports USBType-C based PD power delivery which makes it a good power source for an external harddisk.
The R6S is especially featured for enterprise applications such as mini machine vision systems that need multiple Ethernet ports, as well as platforms for electronic hobbyists to explore various possibilities.
