We appreciate the confidence you have placed in Quectel by choosing our modules. This important notification is to inform you that starting from October, 2011, we will re-release our complete range of GSM modules (M10, M12, M72 and M20) with the new improved chipset, MT6252.
We have sufficient MT6223 chipsets to continue offering the current version of modules until Q3, 2012, and even further if possible, in order to ensure a smooth transition to the new modules.
The reason for migration of our modules to the new chipset is not due to MT6223 chipset’s obsolescence, but the advancing technology. MediaTek is the undisputed world leader in GSM chipsets, and is our most trusted partner when it comes to providing the best in wireless chipset technology. Quectel has complete trust in MediaTek’s GSM chipset roadmap, and we are confident that all our users will benefit from this new revolutionary chipset, which will not only provide increased performance for our modules, but also new features and reduction in the overall cost.
The new chipset’s functionality, compatibility and reliability have already been fully tested and verified by Quectel, from both the hardware and software perspective. The modules designed with the new chipset will maintain the same dimensions, interfaces, and functions, thus being 100% compatible with the original version of modules. Quectel guarantees this chipset change will not affect your hardware or software design.
Our new modules will offer the same level of stability, robustness and quality that you enjoyed with the previous versions. Moreover, you will also benefit from new features that the MT6252 chipset has to offer such as:
